Each year the University of Illinois at Chicago joins the nation in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join us from January 18-22 for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Week 2021 and take part in a variety of commemorative events, which includes UIC MLK Day of Service, Honor our MLK Scholars, A Critical Conversation with Dr. Ibram X. Kendi, MLK Book Club, and Event Debrief: Dr. Ibram X. Kendi.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 2020-2021 Scholarship

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Program Committee would like to recognize and congratulate the 2020-2021 Dr. Martin Luther King Scholarship recipients.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship program was established in 1985 at UIC to recognize underrepresented students who have demonstrated high academic achievement and have shown a commitment to civil rights and social justice through community service. In an effort to keep Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.’s dream alive, these meritorious and/or monetary awards are given to undergraduates, graduates and professional students.
