MLK Student Leadership Conference 2024

Each year the University of Illinois at Chicago joins the nation in honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Join us from January 13-18, 2024 for UIC's Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration Week 2024 and take part in a variety of commemorative events, which includes the inaugural Martin Luther King Jr. Student Leadership Conference, MLK Day of Service, and our annual Keynote featuring Dr. William Barber II.

The Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship program was established in 1985 at UIC to recognize underrepresented students who have demonstrated high academic achievement and have shown a commitment to civil rights and social justice through community service. In an effort to keep Dr. Martin L. King, Jr.’s dream alive, these meritorious and/or monetary awards are given to undergraduates, graduates and professional students.
