UIC Homecoming
Celebrate UIC Homecoming 2023 from November 10th-November 17th, 2023!
Fire up for UIC Homecoming! UIC students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to UIC Flames Homecoming 2023, this year we intend to celebrate a magical and whimsical atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the enchanting world of "Wonderland".
We hope that you will be able to join us for at least one of the events happening during the week! Show us how much fun you are having at the events by tagging us on social media and using hashtag #UICHOCO.

UIC Homecoming Week 2023 Events:
- Friday, November 10th - UIC Homecoming Tailgate & Men's Basketball Game vs. Little Rock & Volleyball Game vs. Northern Iowa

- Student Activities Board (SAB) present the UIC Homecoming Dance - tickets are on sale now!
- An SAB signature event that is hosted annually in November at a venue in the city during the end of Homecoming Week. The dance is to celebrate the last event hosted during the numerous events that were held during Homecoming Week that celebrate UIC’s Basketball teams and the pride around UIC.
- Time: 7-11pm
- Location: The Chicago History Museum
- Ticket purchase is REQUIRED for all UIC students/staff & guests; attendees must present their Eventbrite ticket at the door
- UIC students/staff/alumni: $40
- Non-UIC guest: $55
- Transportation is provided to/from campus
- 6:30-8:30pm Leaving from Student Center East to the Chicago History Museum. Check-in will be available at two separate locations; On the 2nd floor near SCE Inner Circle (6pm-8pm) and at the Chicago History Museum (7-9pm).
- 9:30-11:30pm Leaving from the Chicago History Museum to 700 E. Halsted Street (Courtyard Residence Hall)

Haniyyah Thomas
Haniyyah Thomas is a 3rd year Public Policy major who serves as a student ambassador for the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. Hanniyah’s additional involvements include her role as the Founding President of the Black Student Coalition, an organization that advocates on the behalf of black students, and the Assistant Director of Service of the National Residence Hall Honorary which promotes service and recognition on campus.
Abigail Pettineo
Abigail Pettineo is a senior biology major with a minor in sociology on the pre-medicine track. Abigail is the Co-President of the Honors College Advisory Board, Co-President of Sparkathon UIC’s Dance Marathon for Cancer Survivors, Vice President of the Society of Future Physicians, Secretary of the Undergraduate Student Government, Secretary of Rotaract Club, a member of the LAS Dean’s Advisory Board, a research assistant in the Wenzel Mini-Lab studying mental health throughout pregnancy.
Maxxwell Guffey
George Maxxwell Guffey is a third-year Senior UIC student graduating one year early. He studies Marketing with minors in Public Policy and Economics. He is involved in the Honors College, Business Scholars, and UIC Radio, where he hosts a morning radio show titled Press Play.
Arman Raghnian
Arman is a third-year student majoring in Biomedical Engineering and minoring in Biological Sciences and Chemistry on the Pre-Dental track. Arman is the Vice President of Membership and the Secretary of Alpha Phi Omega, the Vice President of M.I.X.E.D., and the Secretary of BMES. Additionally, he is also a service leader within the Office of Student Leadership and Civic Engagement and a volunteer at UI Health.
Chenille Lawrence
Chenille is a fourth year Computer Science major, a member of the Honors College and the President of the National Society of Black Engineers Chapter at UIC. Chenille is also a CHANCE/ComEd Scholar, teaching assistant for CS 151 under the CS department, and a student worker at the Equity and inclusion in Engineering Program offices. Additionally, Chenille is a member of Collegiate 100 and serves as the Experience Team Lead for UIC’s SparkHack hackathon planning committee.
