Please note: If you are seeking summer funding for SOFAB or would like to host an event before October 31. Note the submission deadline AND attend the Student Organization Conference for your mandated pre-meeting to review policies and requirements.

Student Organization Funding Allocation Board SOFAB University funds for conference related fees as well as organizational development events $700 Done ONLY through reimbursement, will not fund food or beverage, alcohol, cab fare, general office supplies or equipment, social events off campus, charitable events off campus, on-event-specific materials (i.e. org t-shirts). All other items are determined by SOFAB. Conference registration fees, overnight accommodations, transportation, artist/lecturer fees, exhibits, publications (must be free), charitable events on campus, room rental or tech costs Pre-meeting, funding request submission, presentation/hearing of funding request, and process payments
Student Organization Operational Funding Allocation SOOFA University funds for student organization's operational expenses $200 1. Done ONLY through reimbursement 2. Will not fund food or beverages 3. Will not fund apparel 4. Will not provide funding for philanthropies or fundraising Pre-meeting, funding request submission, presentation/hearing of funding request, and process payments

Pre-meetings are required before submission. No pre-meetings will be held the day before or the day of the submission this allows you the time needed to make any last minute adjustments or changes prior to submission.

To best utilize student organization funding:

  • Confirm you funding source SAFC, SOFAB, SOOFA
  • Confirm the EVENT DATES and FUNDING PERIOD NUMBER
  • Confirm your Pre-Meeting Deadline
  • Reach out to orgfunding@uic.edu to request a pre-meeting
  • AFTER a successful pre-meeting submit your funding request by the deadline (INCLUDE your hearing date preferences)
  • Present your event
  • Decision is made by funding committee
  • If awarded funding, guidelines will be provided with specific deadlines to make payments
